Science Curriculum Intent
Our intent is to foster a deep-rooted curiosity and inspire a lifelong interest in Science. We aim to develop our pupils' scientific knowledge, skills, and understanding, equipping them with the tools needed to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions about the world around them. Our Science curriculum is carefully designed to promote scientific exploration, investigation, and practical application, ensuring that all children have an equal opportunity to engage, excel and enjoy science.
PE Curriculum Intent
At Park Schools Federation we believe that PE should we aim to provide a PE curriculum that pupils from Early Years to Year 6 not only enjoy, but which also allows them to experience a range of activities that help them to develop their health, fitness, confidence and wellbeing. We intend to offer a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in sport and other physically-demanding activities, including competitive sports. It provides opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We also aim to build the foundations of a lifelong love of being physically active and help pupils to understand the value of this. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness, resilience, and respect.
The national curriculum for PE aims to ensure that all pupils:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities,
- are physically active for sustained periods of time,
- engage in competitive sports and activities,
- lead healthy, active lives.
